Where for goodness' sake have I been? Maddeningly busy, I'm afraid. I've got a few layouts in the works, but, in a fit of inspiration tonight, I whipped up a few banners from images I love, and thought I'd share. You can find ten of them beneath the cut. But first, a few ground rules.

- no hotlinking! the bandwidth will go out and then no one, not even you, will get a banner.
- please credit! same as layouts, it would be so nice for other people to be able to find these.
- no editing! this is mostly so that i don't see these floating around saved as shoddy .jpgs. if you want text added, just pick a font and let me know! i can do that in two seconds flat.
- most images found at the beautiful forestfamily

I am so undeniably proud of this layout, I cannot even lie. I'm so proud I'm even using it on my personal journal, which makes it the first layout I ever made and used myself.

I highly recommend taking a peek at the live preview instead of the image, because there's a really neat trick to the scrolling that I love.

Nothing too intricate this time, this layout's just the product of some afternoon inspiration. I adore the color scheme.

I came up with something a little more minimalistic and less image-based over the holidays. I'm actually really fond of it. I love playing with the kerning on georgia bold italic.

Second (released) layout! I couldn't decide which background image I like best, so I went ahead and made three variations. (Get it? Get it? Okay I'm done.) The live previews are all at scribbld.net this time, because I made these layouts to be used for a game I co-mod there. I'll probably be writing a tutorial on how to upload flexible squares layouts there and at inksome sometime soon. If you want real livejournal live previews though, go ahead and look at the post for these at mintyapple.

Also, does anyone just flip for the sidebar calendar? I don't like it, so I usually disable it, but if a lot of people do like it I guess I'll start including it. Let me know.

It's a very dear friend of mine's eighteenth birthday soon and she requested a layout as her present. Of course I couldn't say no! She supplied the picture and this is what I came up with! Unfortunately, since it was made special just for her, I'm not giving out all the details or the codes, which is why this is only layout 1.5 instead of 2. Still, I thought I'd show it off.

How do I install a layout?
Easy! Download the codes from the link in the entry, then go to the livejournal style select page and choose Flexible Squares. Then proceed to the customization page and select 'No' for all the drop downs. Paste your code in the big box, hit save, and there you go!

Can I edit a layout?
Absolutely, as long as you credit atlantistic for the base codes.

How should I credit you?
Just a link in your userinfo or links list is fine! It doesn't have to be anything overtly showy or dramatic.

What do you use to make your layouts?
You can find a full list of my resources here

Can I use one of your layouts on another journaling site (Scribbld, Insanejournal, Inksome, etc)?
Definitely, I know those sites have less than wonderful layouts standard, and could use some sprucing up.

If more questions occur to you, leave a comment here and I'll get back to you.
